September is here! Summer is winding down!
Are you like me and beginning to think about the upcoming holidays? Are weekends already booked up with friends and family coming over to visit but there are barely enough seats at the dining table?
I like to have something to look forward to especially when the weather starts to cool down. Is your house ready for entertaining, having family and friends over, guests staying the night? Family rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and guests rooms are always busy with activity during the coming months and provide a special place where people you love can come together. If you are thinking of an interior DESIGN PROJECT that has been on the back burner during those summer months, now is the perfect time to get started so that your home is entertainment ready by the busy holiday season.
First thing first – GIVE YOURSELF TIME!
This is a big investment. Do not be rushed to buy whatever piece of furniture you like at the showroom or you see on Pintrest. Even though you want your home to be cozy for the months ahead, you want it to be functional for the rest of the seasons.
Secondly – PLAN!
Every space in your home has a purpose and so do the elements you chose to incorporate. You want each piece to work together: the furniture, the paint color, lighting are just some of the aspects of your space that you want to be aware of. To get the best outcome, look at every feature individually and then with all the other pieces together. That way, you can determine if you, one actually like that specific piece, and two if it works with the other parts of the spaces you’re designing.
The last aspect of your project that I would like to stress is – QUALITY! Do NOT compromise on quality! It will come back to haunt you. Inferior products keep hurting your design and wallet long into the future. Committing to quality and well-manufactured products right off the bat will ultimately create an overall better space and last for much longer than cheap products, especially if you have a lot of people coming in and out of your home!
