Warm Transitional – Suburban Residence

A traditional Tudor house became the home for a family of 5. The homeowners wanted to open the kitchen and infuse warmth and light into their home. A warm yellow, orange and red color palette brought energy and excitement into the spaces.

The kitchen uses two complementary color stone countertops with two colors of cabinets to break up the mundane bank of cabinets along the window wall. Red Mosaic tiles create a backsplash that is rich and fun. With a large island, the family can gather and easily be part of the action in the rest of the home. The dining room and entry were opened to create a free-flowing home.

The master bedroom uses rich jewel tones and a variety of woods to blend old and new. The new double height ceiling allows light to flow into the bedroom from windows above. The attached master bath continues with a wide variety of stone, tiles and wood tones to create a spa bath with plenty of room for bathing and showering.
